Obituary for Kenneth Walton Smith

Putnam Station. Kenneth Walton Smith, 90, of Putnam Station, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018 at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Born in Ticonderoga, December 18, 1927, he was the son of the late Oliver and Maude (Jordon) Smith.

Mr. Smith was employed as a Foreman for Reale Construction Company of Ticonderoga for many years.

He along with Frank Moore worked to organize the original Volunteer Fire Department for the town of Putnam Station. He served as Fire Chief for 13 years.

Ken enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and gardening. He and his wife, Grace, were avid yard sale enthusiasts.

He was pre-deceased by his wife, Grace M. Smith on March 25, 2018. He was also pre-deceased by two sons, Kenneth J. Smith and Walton K. Smith.

Survivors include his four daughters, Nancy Tyrell (Pat) of Hague, Beverly Prentice (Gregor) of Massachusetts, Christina Cardinale (Ray) of Virginia, and Patricia Patch (Larry) of Ticonderoga; his daughter-in-law, Michele Smith of Putnam Station; and one sister, Winifred Smith of Waterford. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home of Ticonderoga.

A Graveside Service will follow at the family plot of the Meadow Knoll Cemetery of Putnam Station. The Rev. Roger Richards will officiate.
